VA Ann Arbor Healthcare System Research Services
VA Innovation and Research Review System (VAIRRS)
The VAAAHS Research Service has transitioned to a new on-line submission and review system, called VA Innovation and Regulatory Review System (VAIRRS), commercially known as IRBNet. VAIRRS will be used by all VAs with resarch programs and will provide regulatory management for R&D, IRB, PO/ISO, Safety, and IACUC committees. All submissions, including new, continuing review, amendments, staff changes and closures, should be made in VAIRRS.
Uploading historical documents to VAIRRS
For projects that were originally created in AAROW, you will need to upload historical documents prior to creating your first package (Continuing review (CR), amendment, etc). Follow the instructions to submit a package, select the type of package as "other" and in the comments indicate that you are "adding historical documents".
Click on the committees to see the list of required documents. Please pay attention to the naming mechanisms. You can also watch a video tutorial here.
